The large format size of 5. 25 x 7. 75 inch (which takes normal postage) allows lots of room for personalization using an inkjet printer. The image used is a rare handcolored engraving of a baby shoe created by Mademoiselle Rimbot, the leading Parisian couturier for children in late 19th century France. Mademoiselle Rimbot, whose atelier was located at 73 rue de Richilieu in Paris, was the designer favored by Parisian aristocrats, celebrities and fashionistas for their childrens clothing. Her designs were regularly featured in La Mode, the leading French fashion magazine of the 1890s. These announcements/invitations are 5 1/4 x 7 3/4 inches (133 x 197 mm) and are lithographed on heavy 80 pound card stock. The card stock has a laid finish, which is beautifully textured and looks like handmade paper. The colors (pink or blue) are tinted and really look like they are handcolored. The envelopes are made of a matching textured paper. The large format allows lots of room to add the details of the birth, baby shower information, etc. They are easily printed using an ink jet printer.
